We want to inform you that there has been a possible lightning strike at the Intermediate School. As a precaution, all students and staff have been safely relocated to the Elementary School while the Fire Department conducts a thorough inspection of the building.
Please be assured that everyone is safe, and we are taking all necessary steps to ensure the continued safety and well-being of our students and staff. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

🚀Your BMS 6th grader has now been sorted into their house!🌌 But what the heck is a house? Students and staff have been randomly sorted into a house to promote teamwork and school spirit. Students win points for their house with good behavior and academic achievements.
From time-to-time there will be a house color day where students can earn their house points by wearing their house color. We will notify you here in advance. BMS houses and their corresponding colors are:

We're excited to share that Berryville Middle School is moving to a proficiency scale method of grading! 🌟 This new system gives a clearer picture of what your child knows, what they’re still learning, and how we can best support their growth. Here’s how the scale works:
1 – No Evidence of Understanding: The student has not yet demonstrated understanding of the skill or concept.
2 – Partial Understanding: The student shows some understanding but is missing key pieces and needs significant support.
3 – Developing Understanding: The student is on the right track but still makes errors or needs guidance to meet expectations.
4 – Proficient: The student consistently meets grade-level expectations independently.
5 – Mastery: The student shows deep understanding and can apply the skill or concept in new and advanced ways.
✨ This is a work in progress, and we appreciate your support as we shift to a system that focuses on learning and growth over traditional grades. This change helps us identify where each student is and how to move them forward.

Picking out what to wear to school can be so fun! Here are some common issues BMS has had that could result in a trip to the nurse for new clothes. Please remember we are a Bright Futures school. If you need clothing just ask a teacher, counselor, nurse, or any other staff member. The full student handbook is linked in the comments and the dress code is addressed on page 129. #BobcatNation
🍎This weekend would be a great time to figure out where you will be dropping off and picking up your student to avoid that stress come Monday! Please double check that your students know how they are arriving at school and going home from school.
🚗Your options for dropping off and picking up car riders are to enter Campbell Street via Freeman Avenue, exiting on College Avenue OR the circle drive on Freeman Avenue. If you have any transportation changes please call the office by 2:30 pm so that information can be communicated to your student.

The program is open to students in grades K-6 and begins on Monday, August 18. Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday from 3:25-5:40. Transportation and meals are provided.
